This is the irregular series to introduce common trees what can be seen at roadsides, gardens, etc. in Yangon.

乾期終盤の土砂降りのニ、三日後に一斉に開花し、その日の夕方から散り始める。

その後も勢いのある木は、日照り続きの後の土砂降りに反応して、6月頃までに数回開花する。

It blooms after a few days from the heavy rain around the final stage of the dry season, then, starts falling in the evening on the same day.
Vigorous trees can bloom a few times after each heavy rain after a pack of sunny days till June.

この、ミャンマー在留日本人にも親しまれている街路樹の代表格「パダウ」は、ほとんどがインドからの移入種。
家具や調度品に使うパダウ材になる木は、ミャンマーの天然林に自生する別種（Pterocarpus macricarpus）で、木のパダウ（Thit-padauk，ビルマカリン）と呼ばれる。

野生のビルマカリン

Wild Pterocarpus macricarpus, Feb., Alaungdaw Kathapa NP, Sagaing Reg.

Padauk trees which are planted in urban areas are mostly exotic species from India.

On the other hand, Burma Padauk’s wood furniture and woodwork are made of other species, Pterocarpus macricarpus (Thit-padauk) which natively grows in Myanmar natural forest.
